Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and songwriter. Her mother raised her in the USA she faced many racial slurs which gave her feeling of being unwelcome. Her confidence began to grow at the age of nineteen after she took part in a school audition and was highly praised by the judges for her vocal ability. The experience not only helped the confidence of her, but also altered her outlook on the future. When she was 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. Her professional career began at the age of 23 in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. The most notable achievement of her career was in the role of The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's original Broadway production. Not only did she get the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by reviewers. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC her role was given greater fame. Known as a singer she released her own single and an extended play. As an activist, she works tirelessly for LGBT equality.
