Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. Her early roles on Broadway included in Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors in stage and on screen throughout the entirety of her professional career. Ashford will next be seen starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently filming on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at control of the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role of Essie. Other Broadway performances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded the Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
